The question is not whether we are able to change but whether we are changing fast enough. - Angela Merkel
To enable managers to realise the value and benefits of the change and smooth the implementation by understanding the how and when of primary change activities.
This course is based on years of change management experience, with a focus on using simple, best practise principles and tools that work. The course was developed to equip managers with essential change management knowledge so that they can plan and deliver the primary activities to support stakeholders in adopting the change, and measure the change outcomes.
John Kotter identified 8 steps of change in 1996, and they have stood the test of time. The primary activities needed for successful implementation are also well-known and well-documented, after all change is nothing new. Using the 8 steps to determine the timeline for implementing the primary activities leads to a project plan. Taking a pragmatic view of the primary activities provides a set of simple tools that are easy to communicate, delegate and complete enabling organisations to move at pace, with confidence.
This course has a particular focus on the final 5 steps: communicating the change vision, removing barriers to change, generating short-term wins, celebrating success and sustaining the change effort, embedding the changes as business-as-usual. The ability to manage change is a necessary skill for leaders at all levels. Managing successful change requires the coordination of activities from multiple disciplines.
As a result of fully participating in the course delegates will know how to
Increase in-house capability to manage change (which builds trust and lessens resistance).
Improve communications through having a shared language for talking about change.
Provide a framework for understanding the scope, scale and urgency of change.
Inform planning and resource management to balance current commitments with incoming changes.
Minimise risk through wider consideration of change impacts for all stakeholders at the outset.
Improve productivity through clarity of primary roles in change and associated activities.
Build in measurement of change and tracking of business readiness.
Increase likelihood of achieving intended business benefits.
Put their learning into practice in the workplace by creating their own personal action plan during the course.
The course is interactive and contains a variety of group and individual exercises, including structured exercises, personal reflection and action planning.

Angela did a great job of facilitating the 3-day workshop with the senior engineering stakeholders. After some well-managed creative conflict we arrived at consensus for a simplified and globally applicable development program, which will ensure our sizeable graduate population is well-equipped to fulfil our early career talent needs into the future.
